In communities across the country, children experiencing abuse and neglect are staying silent. ​​The issue is substantial, but just how bad is it? In Texas alone, a child experiences a form of abuse or neglect every eight minutes.

Here at Balke Insurance Agency, it is our priority to do whatever we can to provide a voice for the voiceless. As advocates for the safety and wellness of our community’s most vulnerable neighbors, we want to tackle this issue head-on, so for the next three months, we will be joining Child Advocates in its mission to speak up for abused children who are lost in the system and guide them into safety.

Child Advocates is a non-profit organization that mobilizes court-appointed volunteers that serve as the eyes and ears of foster care children while in custody. These volunteers represent one child or sibling group, one at a time, ensuring their unique needs are met until they can safely return home or under the care of a loved one. Their activism makes sure no child is left behind. With their help, these cycles of abuse can be broken, and children can thrive in safe environments and grow to be productive and loving adults.

There are several ways to get involved with Child Advocates. Volunteers and donations play a crucial role in helping to meet the needs of at-risk children.
